Avant and Apres: Myopia Polo Ball

Last night I went to The Myopia Hunt Club’s Polo Ball. Over 100 attendees donned their finest seersucker suits and summer ball gowns to celebrate 125 years of Polo. Party guests enjoyed cocktails on the terrace, then a beautiful steak dinner accompanied by a photographic slide show documenting many wonderfully proper years of polo at the famous hunt club. Highlights include photos of Steve McQueen suited and booted atop a gorgeous pony at the club while filming The Thomas Crown Affair. Members offered anecdotal stories about teaching the movie star their favorite horsey game. Cocktails flowed through the night as did the stories of yesteryear. With pop music reverberating through the walls of the oldest club house in the country, partiers danced the night away. With past captains, current players and pros in attendance, a good night was had by all.

It was of course an amazing party….but the best photos I have are from before the event all together!

As swanky as the party may have been I spent the hour beforehand running around fields barefoot…this is what happened.

Seriously, I felt like I was in a country music video!20130721-111728.jpg

And after it was all said and done. We went for a midnight ride on one of the polo ponies. Bareback in my gown of course….can’t wait to get up again!

  1. This design is incredible! You most certainly know how to keep a reader entertained.
Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost.
..HaHa!) Fantastic job. I really loved what you had to
say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
